When your parents take the time to talk about relationships with you, it's most likely something important and is meant for you to listen to. Yes, everyone should have their own opinions and the way to go about certain things, but everyone should also consider their parents' feelings and respect that. Also, if your parents feel strongly about something and express that to you, you should listen because they're really only looking out for what's best for you.
If 17 year olds are allowed to watch rated R movies outisde of school, then they should be allowed to watch them in school. Rated R movies are rated R for adult content and language, and 17 year olds should be mature enough to watch them. Not allowing 17 year olds to watch rated R movies is kind of sheltering them from seeing are hearing certain things that really aren't new to anyone in today's society.
